Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska | I would sure try to buy it. I'd rather be making land payments than paying rent. In the end you have something to show for all the payments you make.
Just refinaced a land loan yesterday at just over 5% for 15 years. My payments are well under what I could cash rent it out for.
Bought some land a couple of years ago when corn was over $7.00. Paid a high price but it was within 100 yards of my house. Dosen't look too high today.
Like another post said, I'd rather have money in land than CD's, stocks or other investments.
I don't see grain prices dropping lower than where they were earlier this spring. And very well could have an occasional spike up. Sure looks like we will have inflation sooner or later. If so, todyas land prices will look cheap.
One thing I regret over the years is not buying more land. |
