Subject: RE: eggs

I am hearing on the news that the salmonella could be infected in the chicken's ovaries, and that is how the salmonella is passed into the eggs.  If so, that protective membrane would not help at all.

I dunno if this is actually what is happening.  But that is what I heard in the news.

What I find striking is that in every news story they show a picture of someone breaking an egg into a frying pan, and frying it "sunny-side up" (as we call it).  That has to be the most dangerous way to eat an egg, if you are concerned about getting salmonella.  What I wonder is why they don't show making an omelet? or at least flipping that egg, so both sides get fried?  Duh!
