I was raised on a farm....many years ago...and we had just enough chickens for our own eggs. This recent egg disaster coming out of Iowa, reminded me of this question. Isn't there a protective lining (membrane?) inside the egg that would prevent this from actually happening? Dunno...somebody educate me.....TIA
