Nun yer. | I am looking at buying 20 beef feeder calves to finish out over the winter. They would be housed in a 30x65 building with straw for bedding and will have acess to an outside 1 acre drylot that is sand that doesn't get muddy. I have access to high quality corn screenings with probably 5% whole corn in it (hole in grain cleaner) for free, to this I will DDGS (400#/ton) with vitamin and minerals (50#/ton) with a final feed cost of $55/ton. Questions I have are, what kind of ADG should I expect, feed effeciency, free choice hay or 2#/day, which implants, add monensin to the feed, steer stuffer or hand feed? I have raised a lot of hogs in the past and have raised a few calves but this would be the first time raising this many calves at once. Any and all comments are appreciated. | |
