Subject: Re: putting up new fence around cowyard

SW Wisconsin
I put up guardrail on two lots, best fence I've ever made. I put up the bottom rail first and then set a 2X6 on top of that for the next rail, it kept the gap even and it was small enough so they didn't get their heads stuck. I used 1/2 inch carriage bolts and a few 1/2 inch lags to hold them on. On the ends I used 4 bolts to hold the rails together, bought a bunch of them at a farm sale once and figured I may as well fill all the holes! I didn't think the fence was very hard to put up, just took two people. Take your time and it won't be a bad job at all and you will be very impressed with it when your done.
