Subject: Percentage sold

NC Iowa
I am wondering what percentage some of you have priced of your 2010 crop and even 2011 crop ?? Either by cash forward contracts or hedge to arrive contract etc. ??? Are you 50%, 60%, 75% sold ??? I'm wondering primarily about corn and soybeans.
I think many of us would have never thought we would have had this kind of run up in the market 30 days ago. I hate to see an opportunity like this escape.
We here in NC Iowa look to have a pretty good crop although a late season hail could still limit our top end yield, but most have adequate hail insurance coverage.
My biggest concern is not hitting the very top , but I'm concerned over what goes up will eventually come down. I'm also worried that if there is as much 09 corn still in elevators and some producers' hands as I've heard and we have a good sized crop, that there will be no good reason for our local bids to narrow their basis as they will have access to alot of corn through the first quarter of 2011.
Just my thoughts............ What am I not seeing or is my thinking rational??
