Subject: Meteorologist & DTN comment on yield

Good read on yield opinion and heat on yield by DTN. Copied from another site.

* heat fill

Found this on DTN:

?there is still a lot of green on the crop but it?s moving through grain fill lot faster than the plant seems to be ageing.? With more heat units and corn ahead of schedule, the crop will mature much faster. Nafziger however believes the grain filling period is being shortened and this will reduce the yield potential overall.It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Already many of the analysts who predict yield are predicting a national average of 165+ bushels of corn and a bumper crop of 13 billion bushels ? predictions without any hard physical measurements. If what Nafziger says is true, he believes the shortened grain filling period is taking off some of the top end of yield.
