SW MN and Gold Canyon AZ | Yes I AM GUILTY OF SAYING THAT !!! I will still stand behind that saying. Why becasue the odds say that if you hold old crop past june, 19 out of the last 25 yrs prices were lower at harvest than they were in june.
Also my theory is this , you can always sell new crop if the prices go higher, and if they go higher yet one can sell 2 yrs out.
I am a believer in selling on rallies and keep selling on rallies. Yes you may not get the best prices early but later when everyone is bullish you are reaping the rewards while they wait and then the market crashes and they don't sell.
Sell on strength, hold on weakness.
Old crop prices(corn soy) since july 4th have yet to even come CLOSE to my average sale price for 2009 crop. Basis is widening, thats a whole nother issue.
Selling the carry ,whole nother issue.
Me I clean my bins out before it gets hot out!!!!!!!!!!
