Until the January usda report there was many chances to sell July corn over 4.40 Chicago. Add the July to Sept carry and we haven't hit that high ... yet. And the basis "here" is considerably less then it was in july. After it is in the bin it is pure speculation. Everyone has a different risk appetite! I am glad you hit the 8 month high.
Now to answer your question I sold some 2011. And I am not going to have unpriced grain in the bin next aug.
