This thought lifted from a daily marketing newsletter I get
"The talk is that the French Co-ops are hung out to dry on margin calls on Matif hedges and the French banks are unaccustomed to dealing with margin lines of credit"
Could be a lot of banks unaccustomed to these kinds of margin calls.
