| I have been studying the weather extremes this year. I doubt there is a simple relationship & I would only be making a poor guess.
I did post a link to the LM Thompson Weather & Crop Yield Research recently reviewed and researched by the U. of Ill.
It is 127 pages & a good read if you are troubled by insomnia. It raises some issues relative to our weather this year as compared to the previous three years (in some areas).

This season raises the significance of the USA cornbelt (location of) & the favorable combination of 1) Latitude of climate & 2) soil type & how few other such locations exist world wide. We are able to consistently produce food within a high range of predictability.
