Subject: Re: RTK radio/repeater strength

Mid-East Nebraska
John Deere RTK can go 10 miles or more, but to get the week to week repeatability it needs to be 6 miles or less. The curvature of the earth makes it hard to be right on all the time, the repeater only is to go around trees, buildings and anything that is blocking the signal, the total will be 6 miles, yes getting the antenna up 200 feet will help. John Deere has RTK extent, which will run for 15 minutes when it looses the line of site. You mit want to get a couple base stations or towers if you cover a lot of miles. I work for a dealer that has 6 stores and we have put up 14 towers 12 miles apart, that is 6 miles per tower.
