Aurelia, Iowa | In my area of Northwest Iowa, in spite of all the rain (13 inches in June and 8 so far in July), our crops still look very good. There are a few yellow looking areas in our corn fields, but having a full profile of soil moisture going into the grain fill period combined with the crop being at least 2 weeks ahead of last year bodes well for a very good crop here. Just my observations from my little corner of the world. We also grow 200 acres of alfalfa hay and we are tearing out our hair trying to get that done this year. | |
