Subject: Re: Electricity

Leesburg, Ohio
We ran our whole farmstead (but not the grain facility) on a pto generator for five days a couple years ago during an ice storm. Generator was powered by a small diesel tractor, so thought it should be fairly fuel efficient. We spent $40 PER DAY on diesel fuel. VERY expensive electricity compared to our co-op bill, which usually runs around $200/month. They could double our rates (now about 8 cents/kwh) and they would still be far cheaper than a generator of any type that I know of.
