Subject: RE: Electricity

Colby, Kansas
I have a college friend who runs 3 or 4 good sized bins, a loop system, fans and dryers on a genset. It was cheaper to do that then have REA build out 3-phase to the site, but if service is already there you are going to be hardpressed to buy something to cover big load items cheaper than what you can buy it for.

Funny thing in SW Nebr, when diesel went cheap in the late 90's everyone converted their irrigation to diesel, it was cheap and you were never shut down for load control, a year or two back when diesel went through the roof everyone was clamoring to get back on REA even if it meant being shut down a few hours a day in the summer. Most of the REA's around here have significant waiting list and have a good share of their branch circuits full.

You say doubled, but doubled to what, comparitavely you may still have good rates. I'm just curious?
