Very much like my sweet dill pickle recipe... I add dill seed. They ar every good but I hot water bath mine for 10 minutes.... they keep good all winter... do not know about not doing the hot water bath.... you have to bring the cukes and onions and liquid to a certain temp for a certain amount of time to process them....
