I support the idea that we have both inflation and deflation going on in our economy at this time.  Inflation for many of the basic staples we need in our daily lives and deflation for many items such as homes, stocks, etc.  Cost of living is on the rise while net worth is falling for much of our society.  This leads to more problems for those retired or nearing retirement.  Many retirement age people will continue working out of necessity.  This will mean less available jobs for younger people.  

The more the government tweaks the economy the more screwed up it gets.
