New Mexico | just lance it good ( lower part of ie towards bottom the lump )...sharp jack knife works good, lump should drain disappear etc.
If it's a hard lump, leave it be.
Sometimes itching on things they'll get a sliver and that's probably what your seeing.
Lumps on the front of the shoulder can be impact lumps from hitting a chute to hard...buy those cattle for about zip, lance the lumps when you work em etc.
