Saranac, Michigan | A few things to consider:
The distance of the base from the rover can affect the accuracy.
The dilution of precision (DOP) needs to be closely monitored
Changes in the number or position of satellites can affect the accuracy
Data to be stored needs to be checked tor inaccuracies before being booked
The way that data is collected can become very important.
Generally for accuracy requirements of less than +-.5 ft, a data set can be cleaned up to make a decent map. In flat land areas, that may not be accurate enough. We quite often see a need for maps that are much more accurate, say down to +- .1 ft. If you are doing any landleveling or ditching, the difference is huge. GPS is like any other tool. It needs to be used correctly todo a good job. It is known that all of the above will influence the result. In the quest to get XY position 99% of the time, elevation data is compromised. We quite few systems in your area using Deere(ITC) and Beeline equipment that will get you the info needed.
