Not sure about a going rate for that, but if you want to get rid of it and not just burn it back to come back next year, I would give him a spade and pop the root up on top of the ground. Good pair of leather gloves or shears to pop off any heads that have started to turn red, put in a plastic bag until rotten. Gone forever.
