Setting up a JD Seedstar planter that we planted with last year but did not do variable rate. We have the mobil processor and key card for VR this year. My question is do we have to have a genuine JD Starfire reciever hooked to the GS1 mobil processor via can bus connection to make the variable rate drive work on the Seedstar or will an ordinary gps with NMEA strings via serial port work? I never even thought about maybe having to have a JD reciever. Anyone know for sure to save me some headaches?
