Subject: More interest than you think

Pittsburg, Kansas

I think there must be more interest than you think. We were going to do it on two planters this year but the clutches have become so popular we were afraid we would not get them in time for planting (two weeks away if weather cooperates "here"). They are saying 4-5 weeks delivery now and a few weeks ago delay on their web site was "shipped in 4-5 days".

K-State Agmanager spreadsheet KSUgpsguidance (midway down the page first selection under decision making tools). This is an interesting (takes a while to wade through it) analysis of both gps guidance payback and also autoswath payback. Written by our very own Terry and Dietrich Kastens and Kevin Dhuyvetter. I calculate a Seedcommand payback for our operation on our big planter (does the most acres per year) of 2-3 years conservatively. We are setting up our sprayer as we speak with a payback for autoswath of same 2-3 years depending on how you juggle the numbers. Already had guidance and autosteer so not counting that. The number of acres you run and the shape of the fields really make a big difference, as does the cost of the product you are saving or yield savings.
