WCIL | Yes, the breeder is probably laughing at you. He was probably glad to get the thing off of the farm. If the pig is not fixed he is next to worthless. He is only worth cull boar price. You need a vet to even hope of saving him. I do mine at 10 days old.
Or you could raise to about 160 and try the whole hog roast. As long as he has not matured the meat should be eatable.
Packing plants are getting very picky now days. If the pig is not PERFECT you will get a much lower price. They sort them out and send them someplace else. They do not want to slow down the line to deal with anything. | |
