Mississippi | Has anybody in the South (or maybe also California) seen any impact yet from the announcement that AT&T would quickly expand DSL into rural areas as part of the requirements to take over Bellsouth?
A crop consultant who lives outside of Lexington, Miss., about 3 miles said that he was able to get DSL last month and was told by the installer that he was able to now have the service because of the agreement. The area received DSL so soon that the sales people at the old Bellsouth number kept telling the guy that his area didn't qualify. But the consultant said that the installer - a friend of his - told him that it was now available.
