North Central Iowa | I got a new Dell this fall, Latitude D820. It has 2 PCMCIA slots and the slot you described which is called an Express Card (EC). According to Dell EC is (and I quote) "They're expansion cards which fit in the new Express Card expansion slot which replaces the old PCMCIA expansion slots that are no longer in use. The cards add expanded capability to a laptop, for instance, you can add more USB ports with a USB express Card, or FireWire ports with a FireWire express card or wireless capability, etc."
No one told me that PCMCIA is dead nor did I think it was old.
