Aberdeen MS | My uncle was behind the wheel of a LST back in the 50's. He said it was common with all the jarheads on board that many were "green around the gills" in the chow line. Not wanting to wait the got the attention of many when they asked who wanted a good seasickness remedy.
The solution was to get a small oyster, split it and put a string through it. Swallow it...pull it up...and swallow it again.
He said they could then pretty much proceed to the front of the line as long as you didn't get run over by the stampede heading for the edge of the ship.... LOL. | |
