Better get Core2 duo, I had toshiba m500, core2 duo 1.66 Ghz, 1 Gb ram. It very 'easy' on battery, can last long especially if you only use for word processing. Desktop is far far far far........ more cheap though; should not buy laptop unless for mobility reason.
