That may or may not be true about the barcodes, but the choice of putting 'Made in China' on a product is a matter of law, not a matter of pride or lack thereof.  Products made in China (or other countries) are required to place 'Country of Origin Labeling' on things sold here.  It might not be prominent, but it will say on it somewhere what country it came from.  I'm not sure if US products sold in the US have to say 'Made in USA' but of course most do.  The fact that your post seems to indicate that there is some 'choice' being made in China to 'hide' where their products come from makes me skeptical that any of the rest of it is true.
