There is a hydro dam on a medium sized river in the town near us, and lots of eagles winter over there where they can access fish and roost in the trees.  Every time I go into town, I can watch 15 - 25 of them in action.  That is, if I can keep from running into something with the car while I gawk!   I never saw an eagle in the wild in my life till about 25 years ago or so....now they're very common here.  Amazing!  They're great to watch and enjoy.
