E85 usually runs about 10 cents under regular unleaded, and several years ago my wife did some figuring with an '02 Chevy Tahoe with the "Flex Fuel" engine. Just off the top of my head, the numbers were something like 16 mpg regular and 12.5 mpg E85. At 10 cents lower than gas, the E85 actually cost $1.00 more per tankful to run due to the mileage lost. I think it had to be 50 cents lower to equal the cost of regular gas. What a deal!! Seems the fuel dealers are the only ones making out on this stuff. Although we don't buy E85, I got the flex fuel engine in my new Silverado thinking maybe it would become more of a bargain in the future as more ethanol plants come into production, but that doesn't look to promising at this point. On a different note, why is there no "cent" symbol on my keyboard? Has it always been like that? I thought I remember it on typewriters? Oh well......
