Subject: Re: Erecting a mailbox

Valley, NE
i am the one of the first to be made to go the new route, but alot of people have an old tire with cement and a pole on tope with a rikity (sp) mailbox on top, even on the nice side of town. wife wont let me half- @$$ this one so im thinking that if i get a planter box or tub that is about 2.5-3 foot tall, put some concrete half way and dirt the rest of the way. probably put a metal pole coming up the middle and box assembly on top. it would be heavy enough to deter wipper-snappers from taking it for a joy ride, yet somewhat moveable to scoop a little snow or find the right spot along the street. but once i find a perfect spot, i would like the idea of permanently bolted to the concrete. what ya'll think?
