I understand and share your frustration.
Shake it off & all will be fine tomorrow.
We hear the same stuff even here, if we talk about Big Time Operators, or the part time farmer using dady's money, or on & on.
People like to share news; if they don't have any it gets made up.
I was told one time my sis & I put dad in the old home & getting court orders to take his assets.
Actually, I was getting some furnature he wanted for his assisted living place; and I was going to the county seat to file some farm papers in the FSA office.
Ticks you off for a few days, but people who know you know better, and people who don't don't matter.
Yesterday a very nice gent in the area asked, very very hesitant, of what is happening with some property my sister owned (she passes away a year ago). I'm sure rumors are going around on that one. He's a nice guy, I hope to sit down & tell him someday soon - he'd be the type to get the story straight, and not spread the extra made up fluff.
It's just human nature. Upsetting for a bit, but in the end you have to laugh about it.
