west central Illinois | We will use a turf type tall fescue which is NOT KY31. KY31 works well in waterways,roadsides,etc but not a yard. I will agree that ph is an issue under trees as well as the total yard. Test it as you would a field. Get it established with plenty of water as it takes 1"per week to establish turf grass and not just when you see it but to establish. Many will quit watering waty too soon. I tell my customers that I would rather build the house as establish the yard. | |
