I think Solomon was reflecting on the thought that delayed consequences allowed the populace to continue in their evil ways. As your commentary states, Solomon was addressing the larger picture about everyone standing before God and being judged fairly and my understanding would be no appeals. The truth is the truth.



I to believe swifter justice would be a greater deterant to crime. Maybe hang'um when you catch'um----(ok; not really,we are more civilized than that)----but there are a few, like child abuse,torture,murder that I could still go for it. I don't feel the criminal deserves any more right to humane treatment than they give their victim.These trials that take place 2,3 or more years after the fact seem a little untimely.
