Nevada, Iowa | We've had Wildblue for awhile now. Last summer my wife made some changes to her business that uses a lot more time. We thought we should be well within the limits of our $60 plan but we upgraded to the next level for more speed. Suddenly we were over on time and Wildblue recommended that we go with Broad Sky Network, they're connected with Wildblue somehow. More time-more money. Pretty soon we maxed it out and were worried. Not being computer experts we began to search for issues. It turned out to be a setting in her software that was that was searching to download files at to frequent of an interval and it was using a bunch of time every time it did. We got that changed and all is well, we could drop back to the old plan. Having said all that, in the search for solutions we stumbled onto the fact that it may actually be possible for someone to hack your signal. Wildblue didn't have any suggestions regarding how to discover it but it was one of the first things that came up when we were looking for problems. Wildblue should have a webpage that you can monitor your usage from, you may want to power down for a couple of days (if possible) and see if the usage still goes up. Just some random thoughts. | |
