Subject: Re: Yamaha Clavinova Piano

Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska
We had a couple of kids take piano lessons for awhile. A Clavinova was a lot better than buying a piano because...1). lighter and easier to move. 2). this was told to me by a piano teacher...most Clavinova have resistance to the keys just as weighted keys on the piano does unlike the easy pressing keys on an electrical keyboard. That's important. 3). never have to have them tuned because of changes in temperature and humidity. 4). you can make other neat sounds with them besides the regular piano sound. Makes it more fun for the kids to play. 5). a Clavinova has a whole set of keys just like a regular piano. That is also important.
I say if your daughter wants to learn to play..get her one. They can always be resold for about what you pay for one. Plus, their just a good thing for the kid.
