Central Indiana | Several years ago on a visit to Indianapolis, I was on I-65 when my alternator died. Since I happened to be right at Exit 117 (MLK Street) I thought I'd be safer to get off than pull over on I-65. What a mistake that was. I managed to drift into the Marathon station at the bottom of the exit. I knew I was trouble when I went inside and the cashier was behind bullet proof glass. Thank the Lord, a Bakery Delivery guy was there and recognized that I was a stranger in a foreign land. He told me I was in the worst part of Indianapolis and try to get a tow truck to get me out of there as quick as possible. Two hours later & after witnessing several drug deals go down & a police arrest (this was in the middle of the day) I was finally rescued. The Lord was certainly watching over me that day. | |
