North Central MO | Make darn sure that extended warranty will indeed cover the battery, many won't. Our experience has been with heavy use I would not expect much more than 3 years life on battery. We used to always get the extended on laptops ... but the laptops were easily over a thousand or more. A screen can go before the battery and that's often an easy 600 bucks .... but now ... cheaper prices .... on a 500 buck machine I would take the risk, you may be able to just replace it for the cost of the warranty pretty soon. I am typing this on a 350 buck p4m Dell Latitude 1400mhz 40 gig that I picked up at Geeks 2 months ago. It's a sweet little machine and came with xp pro. The cost was less than what we used to pay just for a 3 yr warranty ... times change ... my .02 | |
