Scottville, 49454 Northwest Michigan | My son's father-in-law was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer earlier this week. Rich is sixty-one and was going to retire this May. He was really looking forward to retiring. And now this.
What little I know about pancreatic cancer leads me to feel like it's a "death sentence". From my understanding, there is a very low survival rate with regards to pancreatic cancer. I believe the odds of survival are around five percent. And even at five percent, that's to live for only another three or five years. That's a pretty weak measurement of survival in my book.
At this time, I believe it is Rich's desire to fight the cancer as best he can. So I'm wondering; do any of you know someone who has overcome pancreatic cancer? I'd like to give Rich reason for hope.
And if you wouldn't mind, we'd appreciate your prayers for Rich and his family. He's a good man. He's been a great father and husband.....better than most.
