I am not overly familiar with the soils in NC Kansas, but based on the variety of soils that I have seen it work in I would not anticipate a problem. How well does a hand probe work there? From our experience and from others using one, if a hand probe works, this will work atleast as well, if not better. If a hand probe does not work very well at all, then this is probably not a good option for you.
We will check into the farm shows in your area, and keep you posted if we head down that direction. Also, if there is enough interest in a specific geographic area, we would be happy to come give a demo to a group.
