Cambridge, New York | I have a flock of free range hens on my farm. They literally range throughout the farm, and spend the nights in the rafters in the barns. I sell the eggs for $3.00/dozen. That is, when they're not hiding the eggs on me. I have nesting boxes in my barns, but periodically they decide to hide the eggs all over the place. They're not going roosty, they just like hiding them. Of course, when I find the hoards of eggs, I can't sell them, as who knows how old they are. When I find them, I just toss them onto the ground. The chickens love the old and sometimes rotten eggs. Last night I was getting hay out of the loft in one of my barns, and a whole pile of eggs fell down on me. I think I heard the chickens laughing!!!!!! | |
