Subject: Liquid fertilizer and red ball question

Southeast MN
Just got a 3600 Kinze and have red ball flow indicators for in furrow we are running 4-5 gallons per acre of a low salt/micro blend through it with a John blue pump. Started with green balls and they wouldn’t fall through the fertilizer so went to red plastic and they wouldn’t always fall either so put red glass in, they are working but run pretty low in the column what can we do to get them to ride higher so flow issues are easier to see? Put a red or green plastic underneath them?

Also had a lot of trouble plugging orfices running a 30 mesh filter I think our pump is sending out bits of rust so after a day and a half of fighting it we ended up putting orange veriflow orfices on, they are expensive but work awesome.

Planter has a flow divider with each outlet feeding one red ball column wondering if that could be responsible for the random flow issue we see now since it follows the divider if we swap hoses? Can a person pull the guts out so it’s just a manifold since our orfices should be balancing the flow?
