Subject: RE: Stomach hernia

NW Iowa
This gastro doc I have seen does not do surgeries, she referred me to a surgeon also. I have a hunch she downplayed the hernia I because the diverticulitis problem was more important than the hernia. When I had a consultation with the surgeon about surgery for the diverticulitis I mentioned the hernia to him. He did not want to touch the hernia in any way during the surgery to remove some large intestine. He said the hernia surgery was a completely different breed of cat so to speak. I just like to be proactive with problems, get it solved and get on with life. I have seen too many doctors who lean back in the chair and act like they are wasting their time on me. I went to a back doc in pain with a vertebrae that has slipped ahead 1/2”. He arrogantly told me “you aren’t in a wheelchair so why are you here”!! This is why I like to talk to common folks who have the same problem I have first before I see the specialist.
