| Our local EMS which is ran by our county ESD buys the Ambulance rated trucks and then swaps the bodies over. I believe he (director) said the current truck is 2 years old and has 250k miles or something crazy like that. He had a new 2024 cab/chassis at the office and that’s what intrigued me to ask. He said they just wear the trucks out too fast so they swap bodies. I am almost certain he said there is a ambulance body builder in Houston that actually does the swap, not 6-8 EMTs between calls out in the bay, that would be great if they did though!
