No wear ring in gland.
On set Screw - there is a wire ring for actual gland retention into barrel - I'm guessing set screw is just so things don't turn.
Also Brother just purchased a NH688 Round baler - noticed that it's gate lift cylinders which are 2-way also have a set screw for gland nut retention -
