Michigan | Ooof.
Mine blew in the field. Oil gushing everywhere. No getting it home.
After searching here for help, I went shopping for a crow's foot wrench, but no one had one that big that I could get right away. As I was walking empty handed out of the fifth store contemplating how I could modify a big wrench to fit, I bumped into a landlord. I jokingly asked "You wouldn't happen to have a 1 7/16" crowfoot?" He said "What's a crowsfoot?" I struggled to explain and he said "I might, let's go see." Back at his place, he showed me a huge collection of Snap On tools that he had bought for cheap when a location at GM shut down. Management perks? And he had crow's foot wrenches up to 2"!
Even with that miraculous tool find, I struggled for a couple hours to get that hose off. Putting the new one on was easier, but no walk in the park. I was sunburned and had bruised forearms from prying and wiggling in such a tight space. I wonder if it would have been easier to just remove the valve stack, maybe in the shop it would have been.
Good luck! | |
