If you're willing to think outside of the box, then you could do it with 2-14 or 16g and probably smaller. First, get a 240V pump, then add a step up transformer to send 480 across the field and settle for 50% voltage drop. Or a smaller more efficient motor direct on 240 would be a little more than 10% voltage drop on 14g, that would work. People who say solar is cheaper for a situation like this haven't compared the real alternatives and what they are capable of delivering. A rigged up electric service like this will pump 24/7 through rain and night, which suits the load way better than solar.
