Boone, Iowa | I have a hard time believing that it takes less of a foot print to mine the precious metals and produce batteries for EVs, compared fuel vehicles. We don’t have the electrical infrastructure to sustain EV chargers. Some cities have revolving blackouts now, during peak summer demand. The big oil companies have paid millions, if not billions of money to lobbyists to fight against ethanol and biodiesel fuels. If the oil companies would join efforts with the ethanol and biodiesel efforts, they could fight against the EV backers. The car manufacturers have backed off on the EV production. I am sure the EV have their place, but it’s not for everyone. I get tired of hearing how much the US pushes for renewable and clean air standards, when you see China and other countries polluting the skies. They need to be regulated, so everyone is one the same playing field. |
