What kind of yields do you get with milo compared to corn? What is price difference between milo compared to corn?
Here, we have decided that if the ground will grow 100 bu corn than there is no reason to plant milo. So we plant very little to no milo. Seed for milo a lot cheaper, but we would end up spending most of that savings on chemicals. Most years milo will yield 30 bushel less than corn, some years it is a lot more than that. Here on average the price for milo is slightly lower than corn. We also feel like if you have to cut on the ground we just as well be cutting soybeans. I am wondering why anyone in an I state would grow milo.
