Subject: RE: Honeybee sp25 header use transport or header trailer?

I just use the HB transport system to put away for winter, take hitch off in yard and leave pieces lay for the cutting season. Takes a few minutes to take off. The hitch is a couple of square tubes that are held to the header with a hitch pin. Rear axle is a another square tube slide in place and locked in place with a hitch pin. Wheels are one pin each you pull off the transport tube, and put on the caster wheels of the 30 ft. Heavier pieces are maybe 70lbs and you are laying on the ground lifting and levering stuff into place. So not bad once a year. If doing it more than that probably want a header trailer. I have a IH1020 sitting on a header trailer in pasture I could probably take off and use for the HB but since the HB transport isn't that bad then I don't bother with the trailer. The HB is fairly heavy on the tongue, probably 1200 lbs for the 30ft so need more than a 1/2 ton. Header trailer likely be better balanced in regards to tongue weight.
